I am so excited to provide students with the opportunity to learn the intended 6th or 7th grade curriculum at their own pace. Students have been set up with an app on their iPads called BUZZ MATH. This app follows the common core for each level of the middle school curriculum. Students are presented with interactive examples to learn or review skills that they need or have had previously. In fact, there are 197 different activities in 6th grade, 146 in 7th grade, and 81 in 8th grade. Students earn stars when they complete a lesson. There will be assigned lessons that are expected to be completed weekly. This will be a main part of their grade for the second semester. In fact, all students have the opportunity to earn 100% based on their progress in Buzz Math.
We have experimented with the trial version of this app throughout the 1st semester, but now we have the full version that is much more effective in for helping the students. Students enjoy with the opportunity to use the iPad technology that we hav adopted at Jefferson West. Plus, student should not have as much traditional paper and pencil homework because most of it will be done here at school. My goal is that students enjoy their educational experience while learning as much as they can possibly learn. However...
In the meantime….WE WILL BE BUZZIN'!!!
